Testimonials

"Maritha has been my personal trainer for over 6 years. She is outstanding at what she does and great at understanding where her clients are both mentally and physically, adapting programmes to suit. She is very knowledgeable about different training techniques and really helped me when I had some issues with my foot. She has a great sense of humour. I always leave my sessions with Maritha feeling in better shape. I could not recommend her more highly."

"Maritha is great! She is knowledgable and qualified in multiple fields and has helped me with fitness, injury recovery, and strength training. Often at the same time. I totally recommend her, especially given her wide skill base, and I'm certain she can help you too."

"I have been training with Maritha for over twenty years, initially to resolve a knee injury that I had been told required surgery. Thoughtful corrective action aimed at strengthening the muscles around the knee ensured that surgery was avoided and we began a partnership with the aim of improving strength and flexibility.

Maritha's expertise and attention to detail makes every session absorbing through the presentation of fresh challenges that build on previous achievements and consistently deliver incremental gains. As a consequence of our collaboration I have remained injury free despite following a demanding programme across multiple sports."

"I have been training twice a week for more than 17 years with Maritha which possibly tells you all you need to know. For me, Maritha is the perfect personal trainer. She is always smiling and cheerful and genuinely pleased to see you. She takes her professional education very seriously and is constantly taking new courses to improve her impressive range of skills. This gives her a deep understanding of how the body works - it's not just about packing on muscle. Whether we do our sessions in person or remotely, Maritha carefully gauges what your body is capable of doing. She encourages you to do more, but never shouts or bullies. As a result, training with Maritha is always something to look forward to, never to dread! Certain aspects of our routines are constant, but she is always introducing new twists (literally) that add variety and interest to our sessions. I cannot commend Maritha too highly."

"I have been training with Maritha for almost 20 years this year and she has seen me through a lot of ups and downs over that period!

She is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to the human body and has a great understanding on how it should perform. Not only did she help me lose just over 2 stone in weight (and keep it off), but she helped me through rehabilitation when I severely broke my leg. I don't believe my recovery would've gone as well if I had not been training with Maritha! If there is anything she doesn't know, she makes it her priority to find out and I always feel in safe hands with her.

Whilst she is tough and would push me to achieve things I didn't think were possible, she is also really kind and instinctively knows the days that I just need to train to go through the motions.

You wouldn't find a harder working, more dedicated Personal Trainer than Maritha and I wouldn't hesitate in recommending her!"

"Maritha's sessions are not just about physical fitness, though that is important. They are also about feeling good on both the inside and outside. They are about emotional and mental transformation. They are about moderation and balance, with Maritha believing that everyone should enjoy a healthy mix of workouts and healthy eating most of the time, with the occasional binge of 4 donuts and a bottle of wine! It is about progress, not perfection.

Maritha believes strongly in movement - freedom of movement that is built on a strong foundation of flexibility, mobility and strength. She uses her knowledge of anatomy, kinesiology and biomechanics to address movement problems and imbalances in her clients. By doing this, a client's functional movement (and issues impeding it) especially at their feet, knees and hips, is corrected, reducing the stress on the body. Proper alignment of the body is key to handling the load that everyday movement puts on it, reducing the risk of future injury.

There are many personal trainers, many no more than gym babysitters. Maritha is a professional who takes her clients' results personally. She is invested in her client's progress (or lack of), thinking deeply about different strategies to get the client back on track. Often the cause is a work or family issue, where, by simply listening, Maritha can often help decisions to be made. This probably explains why the turnover of her clients is very low."

"I originally met Maritha in 2004/5 after my triple heart bypass operation.

She developed a training regime to improve my fitness and get me back to full strength and health. Having a medical condition where fitness is crucial, Maritha has provided weekly sessions which help with my particular muscular problems. Using her extensive knowledge in corrective exercise and Pilates to keep the sessions varied and challenging.

She is also a very good life coach providing practical advice on diet and general wellbeing.

I have always been impressed by her professionalism and general positive attitude, and have recommended her to many of my work colleagues."

"Maritha has been my personal trainer for over ten years. In that time she has been instrumental in getting me fitter, stronger, more flexible and helped me recuperate from numerous injuries and operations. If you add the fact she is an extremely kind, understanding person with a good sense of humour you have the whole picture. 5 out of 5 Stars from me."

"I have trained with Maritha for a very long time, 10 years plus, and this is testament to the quality of her work and personality. From day one, and ever since, she has put my needs and requirements at the top of her agenda. This could be a straightforward get, or stay fit, program or a program that deals with recovery from injury or physical stress. She is demanding but understanding, and resilient to all my best endeavours to have an easy time. Maritha has a lovely approach to her work and her glass is always half full. Above all else Maritha is highly skilled and has a deep knowledge of her profession with a flexible approach to the benefit of her client. The start of lockdown is a great example of that professionalism. Before she was able to put in place the online training sessions she send all her clients training programs on social media. I hold Maritha in the highest regard and have no hesitation in recommending her as a superb Personal Trainer."
